Originally named St Christopher after the patron saint of travellers, where 9 fortresses once guarded the precious island’s coastline, St Kitts has culture, history and remarkable sights to offer as well as the cool calm lifestyle typical of the beautiful Caribbean. Upon arriving at St Kitts you will notice the impressive capital of the island ‘Basseterre’ and its wealth of eye pleasing attractive charm. One of the most desirable capitals in the Caribbean claimed its status from protection of the local area with up to 9 Forts guarding the islands. Berkley Memorial, Cenotaph War Memorial, The National museum and churches such as St George’s Anglican Church are a few examples of the many different types and periods of architecture which always provide an interesting and fascinating venture.
